E3 09 Final Fantasy XIII

At the Microsoft announcement at E3 they announced Final Fantasy XIII for XBox 360 will be out in Spring 2010 in North America. Now considering the 360 version is a port, that the PS3 version will be out on or before that in North America.

They also showed a bit of gameplay footage with ENGLISH VOICES: [link]

You know that red thing Lightning uses to call Odin looks suspiciously like a summon materia from Final Fantasy VII.

SE has said that the 360 discs will not have enough room to have both the English and Japanese language tracks. Considering none of the previous Final Fantasies have had a dual language release in the US, I wouldn't get my hopes up, but the fact that they comment and said the 360 version won't be dual-language kind of makes one hope that the PS3 version will be. Honestly though of my games with two language tracks I've never used anything but English. Still, I know a lot of people would like the option.

EDIT: In additional news... Final Fantasy VII was released on the Play Station Network today. Go and download if you haven't played it yet.

At Sony's conference today they showed ever more Final Fantasy XIII footage then at the Microsoft conference.

The first Final Fantasy XIV trailer was shown at the Sony conference. It is announced as being a PS3 exclusive.

My little sister is amazed that a black guy is a main character in the new FF.

It's looking really good so far, and I love that baby chocobo.

Um he would be the third black main character in a Final Fantasy.

FF7 had Barret Wallace (though he was such a big parody of Mr. T.).
FF8 had Kiros.

I own a PSP, PS2, and PS3. I have a PS3 because the PS3 gets BOTH Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. There are also several other PS3 exclusives that I want. Also since the game was developed for the PS3, that is the version I want to play.

And while I don't own a Xbox 360, my brother does and I'm holding it for him. So if I wanted to, I could play the 360 port.
